Revaz Lashkhi (60kg), Giorgi Tsirekidze (84kg) and Vasil Imerlishvili (96kg), members of Georgian Greco-Roman wrestling team, will be involved today in the current World Championship in Budapest.
Only Lashki has the experience of competing in such tournament. The European champion (2011) and the finalist of Olympic Games will participate with number 37 and he will wrestle from the first circle. Other 25 wrestlers will begin from the 2nd circle.
Kazuma Kuramoto of Japan will be the first opponent of Revaz Lashkhi. If the Georgian defeats him, then he will wrestle against the winner among Donior Islamov of Moldova and Mohamed Naser Nurbakhsh of Iran. Possible opponents in 1/8 finals are Ismael Borero Molina of Cuba and Ishtvan Kozak of Hungary. Russian Ivan Kuilakov, Arik Mevlut of Turkey and Elmurat Tasmuradov are in the sides of Georgians. The ways of them and Lashkhi intersects in ¼ final.
Tsirekidze will join the tournament from the 2nd circle, in case of winning over the Ukrainian Vasil Richaba he will wrestle against the winner among Uzbek Rustam Asakalov and Khristo Danilov Marinov of Bulgaria. Among the possible opponents of the ¼ final we will distinguish Saman Ahman Tahmaseb of Azerbaijan and Viktor Lorinc of Hungary. Russian Alexander Mishin, 6 times champion of Europe, World and Olympic champion, is at the same side of the draw.
Vasil Imerlishvili will start from the 1st circle and he will wrestle against Mehdi Abas Dazmir of Netherlands. If he defeats him, he will wrestle against the winner among Dimitri Timchenko of Ukraine and Timo Antero of Finland. In the 1/8 final, the way of the Georgian intersects the way of Russian Nikita Melnikov. Until the final, the possible opponent will be Shalva Gadabadze, who wrestles in the name of Azerbaijan.
Preliminary stage meetings will start from 15:00 Tbilisi time.
