As you know, “Gyori” became champion in Hungary. In spite of an unofficial post, a Georgian man plays a key role in this club. Lasha Odiladze is his name. “World Sport” has already taken an interview from him. Odiladze was an advisor to the president of “Gyori”. He lives in Switzerland and is not on the post anymore but has a great authority in Hungary and “Gyori”.
Lasha Odiladze has won a trial and Georgians are not limited in the Hungarian clubs. In short, the Georgians are not considered as foreigners there.
“World Sport” contacted Odiladze:
“There is an agreement between Georgia and European Union. If you have a legal work visa, you are not discriminated in the EU countries. We won the trial. Turkey has the same agreement with the EU. Nihat, former forward of “Sociedad”, used it. Lawyers of Nihat won the trial and the football player was not considered as a foreigner in Spain. We did the same in Hungary. You may remember how many Georgian football players were in Hungary. I brought them there. Most of them played for “Gyori”. Serbians and Bosnians are considered as foreigners in Hungary and Georgians – not.
…the trial which I won in Hungary can be easily won in other countries too. Let them do it. There are Georgian football players who have limit. Nobody works on it from Georgia. I do not understand our attitude toward football. We laugh at Azerbaijanis and Kazakhs but they fully use their resources”.
We talked to Odiladze about “Gyori”, the condition of Georgians there and generally about football:
- What do you do in “Gyori” now?
- I was an advisor of the president. I chose 80 per cent of today’s squad of “Gyori”, including coach. I am happy that the club became champion after 30 years. I have lived in Switzerland for the last years. But I have connection with the managers of “Gyori”. I give them advice. But officially I am not in the club.
- Rati Aleksidze and Giorgi Kvilitaia do not have playing time. As we know, Rati is going to finish career this summer.
- Aleksidze is a good man and has a great fame in Hungary. Perhaps, “Gyori” will offer him a job at the end of the season. For example, Sasa Stevanovic, goalkeeper of “Gyori”, is also ending his career. Stevanovic has been in the club for a long time. He is offered to be a sports director of the club. In short, Rati can also get a job. We are working on this issue. Rati justified my hopes.
- You had many Georgians in “Gyori”.
- Unfortunately, they could not justify. I do not want to talk about it anymore. I have not brought anyone for test here and then dismissed. Everybody stayed here who came. Only Irakli Klimiashvili was 3 months ago. I know he was not coming for contract. Irakli was not prepared but perhaps, we will return to his variant.
- Givi Ioseliani plays for “Kecskemeti”. He played for “Torpedo” Kutaisi before. Did you bring him here?
- Yes, I did. Ioseliani is a talented boy but he is young and will not have a playing practice in “Gyori”. That is why, we brought him to “Kecskemeti”. This team is in the 6th place now.
- Do you often arrive in Georgia? Are you informed about the local championship?
- I am in love with Georgian football but I read such news every day… media writes about disintegration of the clubs recently.
- How much does the level of the Hungarian Championship exceed the Georgian one?
- The Hungarian Championship is at higher level. It is better than the Serbian one. Hungarian U-19 team almost became champion of Europe and played well at World U-20 Championship. The national team overcame Turkey in the group. For example, there are all terms in “Gyori” for football player. Nobody talks about disintegration of the clubs here.
