Davit Kirkitadze, former football players of the Georgian youth football team, signed contract with “Iron Tiberias” of Israel during summer transfer window. Kirkitadze spent the first half of the previous season in “Metalurgi” Rustavi and the second half in “Zugdidi”.

Kirkitadze played from start to finish in the first rounds of the Israeli Championship. He even scored goal against “Hapoel”.

“World Sport” contacted Kirkitadze in Israel.

Davit Kirkitadze: I finished the previous season in “Zugdidi”. I have suggestions from other Georgian clubs but I preferred to go to Israel.

“Iron Tiberias” was at the meeting in Bulgaria and joined the club there. After some practices the club offered me contract.

- Besides the Israeli club, which club wanted to add you?

- Some Georgian clubs – “Torpedo” Kutaisi, “Dila” Gori, “Samtredia” and “Chikhura” Sachkhere. I had suggestion from Armenian club but I made my choice on Israel.

- Are you satisfied with the contract?

- Yes, I signed 10-month contract. Atmosphere is good and financial side satisfies me as well. They rented flat for me and I also have a car.

- Please, compare Georgian Supreme League and Liga Leumit…

- The situation in Israel lets me say that I am in better championship. In Georgia clubs have financial problems and it has influence on everything.

Europeans are often interested in the players of Israel.

- You scored goal in the second round. Unfortunately, Georgian fans could not watch your goal on internet. How was it scored?

- I was assisted from left wing and I scored.

- Which language do you speak in Israel?

-      English.

- Which position do you play on?

- On right wing, like in the Georgian clubs.

- You will not play in youth team due to the age. Your future goal is to get in the national team…

- Yes, I will do my best to play in the national team. I believe I can do it and coaches of the national team will get interested in me.
