Zhordania Sold "Vitesse" to Business Partner of Roman Abramovich

Merab Zhordania has sold the Dutch football club “Vitesse” Arnhem. According to the official website of “Vitesse”, he sold the controlling stake of the club to Alexander Chyrgynskiy, who is a friend and business partner of Roman Abramovich, owner of “Chelsea” London.

In 2010, when Zhordania acquired “Vitesse”, exactly Chyrgynskiy was his main financial partner.

“When is bought a safety stocks of “Vitesse”, Alexander Chyrgynskiy supported me. We had to take measures to ensure a successful future for the club. I think that I picked up a good time for selling. I will held him with my advises” – official website of “Vitesse” reports the words of Zhordania.

The new owner of “Vitesse” commented on this situation:

“I want to thank Merab for the work he has done during these three years. After necessary investment in “Vitesse”, now is a perfect situation with sports point of view and with organizational side. Merab formed a talented team. The club has a highly qualified technical staff. Proceeding from this, we can move “Vitesse” even further, to turn it into one of the leading clubs in Dutch football. I know, that I can always hope for Merab”.
