As far as you know, Ilia Kokaia, president of “Zestafoni”, hold the press conference today. He announced that Georgian Football Federation cannot get any effective measures and being on Zviad Sichinava’s place, he would resign from the post.
Everything this was followed to the case of Tornike Gorgiashvili, player of “Zestafoni”. This case was running by the instance of disputes. Gorgiashvili was declared as a free agent.
Kokaia said that if Sichinava does not resign from his post during 3 days, then he would leave the post.
- Here is talk just about the presence or absence of Georgian football and not only about “Zestafoni” – says Kokaia – this is a regional Championship and everything is done in order to oppress private clubs. for example, I play everything but then this amount returns against me, this is spent for the budget clubs.
... For example, the players of “Sioni” Bolnisi have not received 4 or 6 months salary, but exactly before the match against us, they gave them this salaries and even the bonus 1500 GEL if they achieve success against “Zestafoni”.
... If Sichinava says that he is not dealing with this issues, then he should go. When I understand that they does not care the president of the Federation and they are making a laughing – stock of him, then I cannot stop there.
... What say about Gorgiashvili: this is not his fault. Just wondering, where and which club takes the player who has not trained and played during 1 year. When I was coming to the Georgian football, I knew that here was not interesting environment for business: neither the money from television rights nor any other projects. The only thing to keep the club was growing and selling players, set management.
... I have nothing against anyone personally in the federation, but when you cannot do anything you should not take place in vain and you have to go. I endured this situation for a long time, but I decided: Either Sichinava resigns or I will go. He knows well that he is appointed president and he cannot make decisions. The method of approach the football from the government is still unclear.
... We were building the base near the Tbilisi Sea, it is a 5-million project, but I am forced to stop it. It does not have any meanings any more.
