After the end of the current season, “Hertha” Berlin is not going to extend the contract with the Georgian defender Levan Kobiashvili. The authoritative German edition “Kicker” reports this information.
Michael Preetz, sports director of “Hertha”, said in the conversation with “Kicker” that whenever it is necessary Levan is doing a great job for the team, but soon he turns 37 and at this age it is impossible to play in Bundesliga.
Preetz said that he has already discussed this issue with Kobiashvili. Sports director noted that Georgian football player studies sports management and did not want to be a coach. According to Preetz, Kobiashvili is going to work in Georgia for some time. However, according to contract he can stay in the club and work on one of the posts.
The issue of Kobiashvili became active in the German press after the Georgian said in the interview with “Bild” that he would be happy to play one season in Bundesliga.
