Gia Tsetsadze: "Our Opponent Was Better than Us"

After losing to Serbia in the second round of EuroBasket 2013, Gia Tsetsadze, head coach of the Georgian U-19 team, stated that the Serbs deserved this victory. The press service of the Georgian Football Federation spreads this information.

Gia Tsetsadze: “The team did not play well. It is the fact but we must fight till the end until we have little chance. To tell truth, the boys and I did something wrong. We played better in elite round. It is our fault. The team lost, so, everybody lost.

It is a very banal saying: it is football and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. We could not play our game. We played better against France than against Serbia. The boys know who did wrong. It will be a good experience for them.

We must win the last match. It is just a matter of principle to win one match at European Championship. We played draw, lost and now it is time to win. We will do our best.

The boys are very upset and disappointed. If you had seen them in dressing room, you would have cried. But they have hope and we must do everything”.

Serbian head coach Ljubinko Drulovic stated he would let substitutes distinguish themselves against France.

Ljubinko Drulovic: “My team held two brilliant matches and we are in semifinal. Everything goes on well. I know the Georgian team and its coach well. Georgia has a good team but today we were stronger than them. I will let substitutes distinguish themselves in the last match. They are also good players and deserve it”.
