Georgins Successeded at "Khazar Cup"

Traditional tournament 9th-Khazar International Cup Open Chess 2011 which was underway in the city of Resht, Iran. 16 Georgian chess players participated in this competition.
 Bela Khotenashvili (2240) and Nino Batsiashvili (2396) who were seeded #1 and #2 at this tournament took the first and the second place. It is remarkable that Georgian players drew only in the match against each other and won other 8-8 matches.
4 Georgian males succeeded in group A, Giga Kuparadze had the best result (2395), he took the 2nd place with 7.0 points.
Kuparadze was leader of the tournament till the 9th round, but in the last round he drew with European Champion (2008) Sergey Tiviakov (2623). It is remarkable that he was seeded #29 at this tournament and took the second place.
Levan Pantsulaia (2610) and Davit Maghalashvili (2453) gained 6.5-6.5 points and took the 4th and the 6th places. As for Levan Zarkua (2356) he took the 9th place with 6.0 points.+
