Geno Petriashvili is a World Champion!

Georgian giant won all battles ahead of time

Geno Petriashvili (120 kg), Georgian wrestler,  won in Sofia, Bulgaria in the World Youth Championship, and made it so that never questioned its advantage over rivals.

Petriashvili removed 5 rivals in the champion path. The Georgian hero won over Litvinov of German 11:2, Trabelsi of Tunisia – 7:0, Dhinsa of Canada – 8:0, Gogaev of Russia – 11:4 and Gomi of Iran – 7:0.

Geno petriashvili needed 2nd period wrestling only against Gogaev. In the final he defeated Gomi in 01:53 minutes. So, Petriashvili following the European championship, won also the World Championship and played a similar double.

By the way, Guram Sagaradze, the world and European champion, the owner of silver medal of Tokyo Olympiad 1964, participated in the awards ceremony of the Georgian.

Apprentices of Giorgi Gogshelidze won another 3 medals in Sofia: Davit Buziashvili, the bronze medalist of European Championship, defeated with Kilicsalayan of Turkey 0:7 in the final of 66 kg weight category and won the silver medal. Beka Bujiashvili (55kg) and Shota Partenadze (60kg) climbed up to the 3rd level of pedestal.

Georgia gained 36 points in the team counting and took the 4th place after Russia – 62, Iran – 52, Azerbaijan – 49.
