Georgian Football Federation made a special statement about the recent events in Georgian villages Dvani and Ditsi on its website:
“Because of the recent events in Ditsi and Dvali we made a decision to make a statement about that unbearable evil toward the Georgian villages by the Russian occupiers.
Football has always been a unifying sport of people. The greatest date of the Georgian football, 13 May, 1981, was created by two great Georgians: Vitali Daraselia of Abkhazia and Vladimer Gutsaev of Ossetia. Today the recent activities in Ditsi and Dvani concern us as citizens of Georgia.
On 6 October the 8th round matches of the Georgian national championship which will take place in six Georgian cities: Rustavi, Kutaisi, Kobuleti, Ganmukhuri, Martvili and Mtskheta will be held with the following motto – “Ditsi and Dvali are Georgia”.
Football players of all twelve teams will start the matches with T-shirts inscription on them”.
