Sachino Davitaia (66kg), member of the Georgian Greco-Roman wrestling team, won bronze medal at the Vladislav Petliasinski Memorial in Warsaw. The Georgian wrestler defeated Benedikt Puffer of Austria (7:0), Edgaras Venckaitis of Lithuania (2:0, 3:0) and Plamen Petrov of Bulgaria (4:0, 14:10). In semifinal Davitaia lost to Frank Stabler of Germany (0:5, 0:2). In repechage final the Georgian won over Yerbol Koniratov of Kazakhstan (1:1, 3:2).
Yesterday Bachana Putkaradze (55kg), Revaz Lashkhi (66kg), Giorgi Tsirekidze (84kg) and Bachana Arabuli (120kg) wrestle on the Polish tatami too but all of them lost in the first round.
After losing to Aleksandr Kostadinov of Bulgaria (0:7), in repechage Puktaradze lost to Bekzhan Mirzaliev of Kazakhstan (0:1, 0:1).
Lashkhi wrestled in 66kg. He lost to David Karecinski of Poland (1:0 1:5). Tsirekidze lost to Eugen Ponomarchuk of Germany (0:1 0:3).
Arabuli started participation from the second round. He defeated Robby Smith of America (7:0). But then he lost to Ioseb Chugoshvili of Belarus (0:2 0:5).
Today champions and prize winners will be found out in 60, 74 and 96kg. Ilia Gulbatashvili (74kg) and Vasil Imerlishvili (96kg) will wrestle in the name of Georgia. Gulbatashvili will wrestle Balint Korpasz of Hungary and Imerlishvili – Daigoro Timonchini of Italy.
