When Giorgi Devdariani coached U-17 team, he managed to make through to elite round after losing the first match. Now he did the same in U-19 team.

To tell the truth, despite losing to Montenegro, the Georgians played better than others at the tournament. We lacked stability in the back line but it has an explanation – defenders Jimi Tabidze and Giorgi Tevzadze could not help the team due to injuries. Devdariani had to put midfielders in defence.

At the first minutes the Georgian national team made a mistake and Puscas scored goal – 0:1.

Later Razvan Negrila committed foul on Giorgi Beridze but referee did not award penalty and showed the Romanian yellow card.

Soon Roman Chanturia assisted Kiteishvili who scored goal – 1:1.

The Georgians did not slow down attacking and finally, Kiteishvili scored another goal – 2:1.

At the end of the first half the Georgians were almost scored goal when Andrei Ivan missed the target.

At the beginning of the second half defender Zurab Malania scored goal – 3:1.

In two minutes Kharaishvili assisted Chanturia who missed the target and lost chance to score goal.

Zarandia was one on one with the Romanian goalkeeper but Negrila parried the ball.

In the middle of the second half Giorgi Arabidze was in the penalty area of the Romanians but could not kick the ball.

A couple of seconds before the end of the match Zarandia fell in the penalty area of the opponent but the referee did not award penalty and showed yellow card to the Georgian captain.

Giorgi Devdariani: “We overcame the first half. This team deserved elite round. I am disappointed by my mistake against Montenegro. Today I made mistake when I did not let Zarandia play earlier. We will lack him in the first match of elite round. However, Tabidze and Tevzadze will join us and we will have more balanced team.

The team plays even better and better. The federation supported us but it would be better if we hold a friendly match before the tournament. The team played attacking football. I want to thank fans for support and journalists for attention.

The searching process is not finished yet and if someone is good, the door of the team is open for everyone”.
