Georgian U-17 team (head coach – Nodar Akobia) took the 5th place at the 12-team tournament in Belarus. In the last meeting the Georgians overcame Iran 1:0. Guram Goshteliani scored the only goal at the 26th minute.
Georgians composition was following: Kulua, Kapanadze, Katsitadze, Nadaraia, Lebanidze (Kiknadze 41), Kevlishvili, Kobuladze, Kamladze, Lashkhia (Mamuchashvili 51), Goshteliani (Mikeltadze 59), Jobava.
Russia won the tournament, who beat Belarus 6:1. Midfielder Giorgi Mekladze scored one goal in the lines of winners. He plays for academy of “Spartak” Moscow.
It’s interesting that Oto Goshadze (“Saburtalo”) became the best goalkeeper of the tournament, who plays for the team of Vasil Maisuradze.
