Two Gold Medals from Israel

The Georgian judokas finished U-23 European Judo Championships with two medals. On the second day of the championship Koba Mchedlishvili (81 kg) and Beka Gviniashvili (90 kg) won gold medals.

Mchedlishvili beat Nicon Zaborosciuc of Moldova and Florian Girardoz of Switzerland by ippon-ippon. Then, the Georgian defeated Abas Azizov of Russia by waza-ari, Jesper Smink of Netherlands by two yukos. In final Koba won over Antonio Esposito of Italy.

Beka Gviniashvili beat Viktor Makukha of Ukraine in 2 minutes and 24 seconds, Viktar Kliavusau of Belarus in 48 seconds and Mihael Zgank of Slovenia in 3 minutes and 58 seconds. In semifinal the Georgian defeated Nemanja Majdov of Serbia by waza-ari and yuko. In final Beka won over Yahor Varapayeu of Belarus.

On the last day of the tournament Levan Gugava (81 kg), Ushangi Margiani (90 kg), Lasha Taveluri (100 kg) and Guram Tushishvili (+100 kg) also wrestled on the Israeli tatami but all of them lost the first stages.
