Samtredia Said Goodbye to Europa League

All three Georgian clubs said goodbye to Europa League in the first qualifying round. They all won one match but it was not enough.

Samtredia lost the first leg 1:5 to Gabala and was without chance. The second leg started with advantage of the Georgians when Budu Zivzivadze scored a penalty. Samtredia tried to attack but how they did, it is another question. At the end of the first half Theo Weeks scored a goal – 1:1.

The Georgians had advantage and good moments in the second half. At the end of the match Lasha Shergelashvili scored a goal – 2:1.

Gia Tsetsadze: “I congratulate the opponent on making through to the next round. We won today but I did not like the game of my team. I would have been satisfied if we had won 4:0. Gabala has experienced players. We have young players who have potential of playing in the national team”.
