The Georgian U-17 team lost to Italy 0:1 in European U-17 Championship elite round. At the beginning of the second half Davide Frattesi scored the only goal of the match.
The Georgians held a good first match. Vasil Maisuradze’s team missed two good chances. The Italians had only one good combination.
Italy wanted only victory. Georgia had to win by three-goal margin and Bosnia had to beat Russia.
Italy played much better in the second half. Frattesi scored a goal and our left defender Levan Kharabadze was sent off.
The Georgians had only one chance after the first half but the Italian goalkeeper parried Lasha Ozbetelashvili’s shot.
Finally, Georgia finished elite round without a point. It is obvious that this team lacks individualist players like Giorgi Arabidze, Luka Zarandia, Giorgi Papunashvili, Giorgi Aburjania, Bachana Arabuli, Giorgi Chanturia, Vako Kazaishvili.
