Arveladze's Lawyer: "We Fought for a Long Time and Finally Won"

Georgian national team’s former forward Shota Arveladze won the case in court over “Ajax” Amsterdam. The Dutch tax authority argued the Amsterdamians about concealing taxes during transferring Arveladze from “Trabzonspor” to “Ajax” in 1997. The talk is about 1500000 Euros.

The Amsterdamans sued the Georgian player and demanded him pay this sum of money. The process took several years. On May 11, the Court justified Arveladze and accordingly the Dutch club charged to pay the mentioned sum. In connection with this fact, the leaders of “Ajax” had not made any comments. They still have the right to appeal the decision in court.

According to Arveladze’s lawyer Rob Cohen, the current and old management’s members of “Ajax” are cowards, because they knew his client was right and said nothing.

“We fought for a long time and finally we won. Arveladze’s family has reason to rejoice. “Ajax” is obliged to pay to the tax authorities. The employer shall always be responsible. The leaders of “Ajax” received 12 million Euros, when Shota transferred to “Rangers”. All of them are cowards – Van der Sar, Overmars, new and old management. They know they are wrong and avoid to comment”, - nos.nl reports the words of Cohen.

“I have been always loyal towards the club. Up to this date, I have good relations with many people working in the club. I am very happy, because the club had stressed my house and accounts”, - said Arveladze.
