German national team was the first of world champions to which Georgian national team opposed. 20 years ago, the team of Berti Vogts, which was captained by the forward Jurgen Klismann, won 2:0 in Tbilisi.
Then, central defender Kakha Tskhadadze captained the team. Klismann made a double in the first half. However, Georgia had chances too and Shota Arveladze could not use real chance of making a goal. In the qualifying circle of 1996, Germany took the first place in the group where Bulgaria, Wales and Albania were besides Georgia and in England won the gold medals at the final stage.
In 1995, 90 000 spectators attended the match of Geogria-Germany, but the fans would be more than 100 000. At that time, there were not individual chairs at the national stadium and besides wooden chairs, the fans were sitting also on the stairs between tribunes. According to the older fans, about so many people attended the meeting of “Dinamo” – “Liverpool” at Champions Cup 1979.
In 2015, 2 days before the match of Georgia-Germany, all the tickets were sold out, but 20-year-old showing never repeats. Simply due to the fact that now the stadium can contain a little more than 54 000 fans and all the chairs are individual.
Before the match against Germany, the new scoreboard was installed at the stadium. It happened for the first time that the fans entered the stadium by the electronic tickets after when they passed specially installed tourniquets. Tbilisi is preparing to host the Super Cup in August and the match against Germany was the test for “Dinamo Arena”.
At the press conference before the match, German team’s head coach Joachim Low and midfielder of “Real” Madrid Tony Kroos said that their main goal was to take three points in Tbilisi. They reached the goal so that the questions are not left. Like 20 years ago, the Germans won 2:0 and both goals were scored in the first half. Like those times, the second goal was scored at the 42th minute. In a word, history repeated.
In comparison with a friendly match against Malta, Kakha Tskhadadze made one change in lineup. He put defender Ucha Lobzhanidze instead of midfielder Giorgi Chanturia. Aleksandre Amisulashvili, Solomon Kvirkvelia and Guram Kashia acted in center of defense. Ucha Lobzhanidze played at right wing, Giorgi Navalovski at the left. Kakha Makharadze and Jaba Kankava played in midfield center, at right – Sandro Kobakhidze and at left – Tornike Okriashvili. Levan Mchedlidze was in attack.
The match started unluckily for the Georgians, because at the 2nd minute Amisulashvili injured his left leg and was replaced by Lasha Dvali. Kashia moved to the center from the position of central defender and Dvali occupied his place. Kvirkvelia moved as the right central defender.
At the 36th minute Makharadze lost the ball on his own half, Gotze assisted Reus who opened the score.
Nothing was left before the end of the half, when Muller scored the second goal.
When the teams were leaving for break, young fan jumped from the tribune and kissed to the Kankava’s boots. By doing this he paid back one of the fans, who did the same to Schweinsteiger during the Germans training. Stewards decided to attack him roughly, but the players do not allow.
At the start of the second half, the younger fan jumped from the tribune, which proves that security system of “Dinamo Arena” is not in order.
In the initial five minutes of the second half, the Georgians attacked twice.
At the extra time of the match another four fans jumped in the stadium and this is serious problem already. Perhaps, UEFA will have a tough reaction to this fact.
