Referees Are Signed onto Plea Bargain

The trial of the referees who are accused in match fixing was held. According to the decision of the court, all defendants are signed onto plea bargain.

According to the decision of the court, 5 from 8 referees will spend 9 months in jail. These referees are: Zviad Askarogli, Aleksandre Guntadze, Teimuraz Khuchua, Tornike Gvantseladze, Irakli Urushadze. They have to play 3 000 GEL.

As for Onise Molodinashvili, Otar Khetsadze and Mamuka Urushadze:

Onise Molodinashvili is sentenced to a year and 2 months in prison. He has to pay 2 000 GEL and is not allowed to work for 2 years.

Otar Khetsadze and Mamuka Urushadze are sentenced to a year in prison. Khetsadze will pay 15 000 GEL and Urushadze – 10 000 GEL.

“The court discussed request of the defendants about plea bargain and agreed on it” –Zviad Pkhakadze told “Moambe”.

The referees were detained on February 24 by Anti-corruption Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The investigation established that the detained referees made agreements with citizens on the number of red and yellow cards in return for 2500 to 5000 USD.
