“Anzhi” Makhachkala of Russian First Division wants to cancel contract with Gia Grigalava, defender of the Georgian national team. The club stated forbidden drug was found in blood of 25 players.
“In January Gia, like other players, took drug and urine test and nothing forbidden was found in it. Several days ago the club demanded additional test and Grigalava was among “favorites”. He lives on “Anzhi” base.
The test showed positive result. They did not give document to the player but made it clear it would be if Grigalava thinks about his future in the club” – internet portal championat-rostov.ru reports.
Grigalava suggested the club to take independent test in one of the clinics of Moscow but he did not receive an adequate response.
Grigalava transferred to “Anzhi” a year and half ago and is considered one of the highest-paid players of the club. “Anzhi” wanted to dismiss him before but did not like offers. So, Grigalava was back on the list but did not play. His contract with “Anzhi” expires in a year and half and now the club is trying to dismiss the Georgian by failure of drug test.
