Georgian U-17 football team, coached by Aleksandre Chivadze, will play in the 6th group against Spain, Sweden, Croatia, Estonia and San-Marino in the European Championship qualifier 2017.
This information was announced on February 5 in the UEFA headquarters in Nyon (Switzerland).
52 participating teams of qualifier stage were distributed in 9 groups. There are 5-5 teams in 7 groups and in the other two – 6-6.
I group: Czech, Belgium, Montenegro, Moldova, Latvia, Malta.
2nd group: Italy, Serbia, Slovenia, Ireland, Lithuania, Andora.
3rd group: France, Scotland, Ukraine, Iceland, Macedonia, Northern Ireland.
4th group: Portugal, Israel, Greece, Hungary, Albania, Liechtenstein.
5th group: Denmark, Romania, Armenia, Wales, Bulgaria, Luxemburg.
6th group: Spain, Sweden, Croatia, Georgia, Estonia, San Marino.
7th group: Germany, Russia, Austria, Finland, Azerbaijan, Faroe.
8th group: Netherlands, Slovakia, Turkey, Belarus, Cyprus.
9th group: England, Switzerland, Norway, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kazakhstan.
It is notable that for the first time 12 teams will play in the final stage instead of 8.
Football players born on January 1st 1994 and after have the right to participate in the qualifier 2017.
