Today is the 100th anniversary of the legendary Georgian football player Boris Paichadze. With the initiative of GFF the football academy of Rustavi, which is under construction, was named after him. Also noting is the fact that the memorial plaque of Boris Paichadze was opened in Rustavi.
Boris Paichadze was born on February 3, 1915 in Chokhatauri, still at the time of Russian Empire. He played for “Dinamo” Tbilisi from 1936 until 1951. According to official data, he scored 105 goals in 190 matches. His short coaching career is less known. In 1953-1954 Boris Paichadze worked for “Dinamo” as a head coach. On October 9, 1990, at the age of 75, he died in his own house in Tbilisi.
The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs will hold the evening dedicated to Boris Paichadze in Rustaveli theatre and in the cultural center “Musa” will be held exhibition of Boris Paichadze’s photos and then the book presentation will take place.
Recall that city hall of Rustavi separated 8 thousand square meters to Georgian Football Federation. There will be administrative and residential building, 6 football fields, indoor gym, tennis courts, swimming pool and also appropriate medical equipment in the academy complex.
